Developing a deeper understanding of the impact we have on each other, has always been central to our work at TiA. However, recently we have seen a far greater demand for developing the application of this work.
In particular we are being asked for customised workshops, aimed at personal impact and influence - whether in peer-to-peer relationships or in a sales context, working with existing clients or on new pitches.
Soft skills have often taken second place to technical training when budgets are tight, but recent research backed by the CBI reveals that three-quarters of employers believe there to be a soft skills gap in the UK workforce.
Workshops which help improve interpersonal effectiveness, particularly in a sales environment, not only target this gap, but do so in a way that allows employers to measure the return on investment.

The last six months have been an exciting time for the ‘engine house’ of TiA! During this period we have been developing the infrastructure and course material to become an Approved Centre with the Institute of Leadership and Management for the delivery of a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
ILM is the biggest management body in the UK and has seen over 750,000 people benefit from an ILM qualification or accredited training programme in the past ten years. With 50 years of experience in the design and development of leadership and management qualifications, one can only wonder about the influence it has had on the evolution of management styles over the decades and the direct support it has offered thousands of people to become more mobile within their organisations.
We have always been passionate about unlocking the potential of individuals within an organisation and we see this as our opportunity to provide a more structured support for this process and to further enhance the TiA experience.

For many years now, TiA have been building an on-line library of background reading to support programme delivery.
Equally, for many years, I have enjoyed dipping into those inspiring (and ingeniously short) TED talks around leadership, followership and just about any other topic worthy of debate.
Now at last we have brought the two together, with the creation of a new, dedicated site within our on-line library, providing a selection (our selection!) of the very best TED talks in our field.
Initially these are being made available as part of the course library, accessible by password as part of the overall programme offering, but in time we may simply open this up to general use.
